Frequently Asked Questions

When should I start looking for a wedding dress?

It’s never too early to start! As soon as you’ve got engaged you should start looking to get an idea of styles and designers that you like. Remember to keep an open mind.

How long will it take for my dress to be made?

Depending on the designer you choose, it could take anything between four and nine months to be made. Some designers can ‘rush cut’ your dress, but you may incur additional fees to speed the process up. In an ideal world, in order to give yourself plenty of choice and time, you should start looking approximately 12 months or more before the big day.

N.B Due to the pandemic designers are being flexible and working to shorter lead times wherever they can. Please don't panic if your wedding is only a few months away and you've got your heart set on a made-to-order dress! We'll do everything we can to help.

Will I need to make an appointment?

Currently, access to the boutique is strictly by appointment only to ensure the safest and best experience for everyone. Appointments are available Tuesday to Saturday, and we offer evening appointments.

How long will trying on wedding dresses usually take?

The first appointment is usually around an hour and a half. This gives you plenty of time to try on a variety of dresses, styles and shapes.

What should I take with me to my first appointment?

A pair of neutral coloured, seamless knickers and if you’ve a bigger bust, a good-fitting bra is all you need. There’s no need to bring shoes but if you have anything you know you’ll be wearing on the day (a family heirloom or specific jewellery) bring this along as it will help us choose dresses to complement these important elements.

Who should I take with me for my appointment?

We recommend bringing people you trust and whose opinion you value. Although it’s an exciting time - don’t be tempted to invite an entourage! The more people who are present the more opinions you’ll receive and this might confuse, or worse still upset you. One or maybe two people works really well. You can always FaceTime anyone who can’t make it!

Will there be accessories there for me to try on as well?

Absolutely! We stock an extensive range of veils, headpieces, jackets, boleros, belts, capes, jewellery and tiaras, to help create your dream bridal look.

What happens if I need my dress in a hurry?

As well as the ‘rush cut’ service some designers offer, we have an extensive range of sample sale dresses and ‘off the peg’ dresses. These beautiful dresses are available to take away on the day and are heavily discounted.

Our expert seamstress, and boutique owner, Joana will also be on hand to make any sample dress fit to perfection.

How do I know if I have found ‘the one’?

Some brides instinctively know the moment they try it on. Other brides need to retry more shapes and styles before deciding on their favourite. ‘The one’ means different things to different people and it doesn’t need to make everyone cry!

If it makes you feel fabulous, your wedding dress shopping is complete.

I have a tight budget – will I still be able to get a fabulous dress?

Without a doubt. We have styles, shapes and sizes for a variety of budgets. Dresses are priced from £500 and our expert stylists will work with you to find something you love, that you can afford.
